American Medical Centers announces new Cardiac Preventative Care Department
January, 2010 – AMC Kyiv is proud to announce the opening of its Cardiac Consultant department. Our Cardiac Preventative Care department specializes in managing adults who are at high risk for future cardiovascular disease either because of the presence of multiple cardiac risk factors (e.g. hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, cigarette smoking, sedentary lifestyle, overweight status, etc) or a history of known cardiovascular or peripheral arterial disease.
The Preventive Cardiology program, headed by Dr. Marina Sharaova, AMC’s Chief Cardiologist, is a personalized comprehensive approach to lifestyle and medical management. AMC Kyiv uses the latest assessment techniques to measure and assess the patient to include lipoproteins investigations (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides) and exercise stress tests, echo Doppler tests, EKG’s, and Holter monitoring.
