Dr. Hnilica is a senior healthcare professional with extensive expertise in treating adult patients both in Europe and the United States.  US and EU Board Certified, Dr. Hnilica is a 1991 graduate of the School of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava, his medical career spans over 30 years, both in the academic and private sectors. His professional experience includes Hospital Medicine and outpatient Internal Medicine / Primary Care. 

After undergoing graduate training in Internal Medicine in Slovakia, he sat for and passed the USMLE examinations and achieved ECFMG certification. Later, he was accepted and graduated from the Internal Medicine Residency program at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, U.S.A.  

After graduating from the MSU, he joined a private hospital group practice at two tertiary care medical centers in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. From 2004 till 2023, he was a member of a large multi-specialty WellStar Medical Group in metro Atlanta, Georgia with admitting / attending physician privileges at WellStar tertiary care hospitals.  Since 2009 Dr. Hnilica has practiced outpatient Internal Medicine / Primary Care, serving healthcare needs of the international community of metro Bratislava, Slovakia. 

In addition to his work at AMC, Dr. Hnilica has been granted active medical staff privileges in Internal Medicine at two hospitals in Bratislava. He currently holds his physician license in Slovakia, as well as Missouri and Georgia (U.S.A.) and continues to sit for his Certification Exam (2000, 2010, and 2020) at the American Board of Internal Medicine (www.abim.org).  Dr. Hnilica is fluent in English, Czech, and Russian and regularly seeing AMC patients.
