American Medical Centers (AMC) was founded by Dennis Sokol in 1991 with a charter to establish primary and specialty care medical centers in the former Soviet Union. Formerly a division of HCI (Hospital Corporation International), the company expanded and developed premium outpatient care and dental practice clinics in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Prague, Warsaw, and Kyiv. In 2001, Mr. Sokol’s son, Alex Sokol, assumed the role of President and CEO of AMC Group, proudly commissioning the first American-owned specialty hospital in Russia, a 2.500 m2, two surgery room, twenty-two bed facility.
Today, American Medical Centers (AMC) is the largest premium private outpatient health network in the region operating 10 full-service clinics and 2 AMC Assist offices across Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, and Italy, with further clinic openings slated in 2025. With over 200 healthcare team professionals and 30 years of regional experience, AMC has earned the trust of global insurers and TPPs, multinational corporations, embassies, schools, and local and international communities, offering personalized 24/7 primary and specialty care, preventive healthcare, and emergency care coordination to over 20.000 patients annually.
From our beginnings, AMC has held a simple goal to design and structure our clinics and care model with you and the patient experience at its core. AMC ensures the best health outcomes for all patients through personalized and patient-centered medical care, bringing the best that western medicine can offer.
AMC remains loyal to our belief that quantity cannot replace quality, trust, and integrity. We commit to a patient-centered model in all we do: no access fees, living-room comfort, direct insurance billing, ample time with patients, continuous medical education, quality assurance, and the active promotion of an in-clinic and online preventative healthcare model with unparalleled service.
